Now, at first I didn't want to write this post - since it is thematically quite off of what I've posted so far... BUT this blog is about donTurgol and this is part of donTurgol.

My art style is usually heavy on lines and very comic style - b/c that's what I think I am good at. Every now and then I also try to go into different directions, like with this following good-night doodle based on a photo of Olga Kurylenko (look her up -> she's a beauty and super hot).

Project VGS | M_ARIO

Been experimenting and ended up with following creation in two slightly different versions:

M_ARIO black background

M_ARIO grey layered background

Now - I somehow prefer the upper all black background version but the grey background edition has also something special to it. Hmmm...

Keep Calm And Hoodie Up!

It is not a big secret that I am an Assassin's Creed fan from the first game on. Side-note: I haven't played ACIV yet and yes ACII is awesome - but my favorite is and will always be the original one!

However - I want to use this occasion to draw your attention to UbiWorkshop - the official store for Ubisoft merchandise, where you can buy some exclusive and awesomely designed & crafted goodies and apparel of and from various Ubi brands (like AC, Splinter Cell, ...)!

OMEGA [UPDATED]

So there was this tweet from @SonySantaMonica (God of War, Twisted Metal, ...) asking for fan-art:

I replied with a quick sketch of Kratos (God of War) in action:

They seem to like it (?) since they re-tweeted me *high five*. Now - the character of Kratos might be dull but his actions are great inspiration for 'cool' art and so - in between E.coli transformation and pouring LB plates - I tried to 'translate' Kratos to donTurgol-style...

... and may produce more 'cool' GΩW themed scenes soon.

Had to change that chin... and somehow the whole face/head change too with the new sketches BUT I like it - there's more Kratos going on now :)

Creativity

So, there is this online shop World Of Games (WOG|wog dot ch) where I usually buy my games and consoles'n stuff. A couple of weeks ago they announced a contest where you can win a #PS4 at launch (EU launch | 20131129). To participate, you had to send in a pic of your PlayStation collection and they then would select the Top10 (based on creativity - not size) for a final voting.

Now, I am thankful that they organized smth like that at all BUT it was disappointing to see that non of my following two pics was selected for the voting...

No offense but come on! - it just feels unjust or do I have a 'wrong' perception of creativity and faithful execution of creative ideas? I am not the only one complaining btw... and I don't care for the prize or that I lost - I just can't imagine that there where no other/better submissions than some of the chosen 'Top10' :-/
